This chapter began with a signpost of an introduction to blended learning and scenario of learning style in MARA University of Technology. Buzzwords such as learning, blended learning, technology enhanced learning, digital academic and digital literacy have become common place in the educational world. Blended learning means the process of face to face learning and teaching events that are mixed with practical use of technology or online activities. Ward and La Branche (2003) claim that blended learning is often labeled as â€Å"the best of both worlds†. The definition of blended learning, however, is controversial among researchers and practitioners (Whitelock, 2004; Oliver and Trigwell, 2005). Macdonald (2007) describes blended learning†¦show more content†¦By incorporating the online feature to the university’s conventional mode, blended learning has created a potentially powerful learning environment that enriches and complements the effectiveness of t raditional teaching and learning. Since 2004, faculties in MARA University of Technology have begun to offer most of its courses and learning materials using online presentation. Learning activities and resources are no longer limited to resources physically available in libraries, confined to classrooms and lecturers who are physically present on campus. The way it is, blended learning has transformed the university teaching learning approach and thus has increased its capability to offer online and distance education programmed to lecturers and students, not only nationally but also internationally in our new digital world today. This effort has been taken as another internationalization effort of higher education as it is believed that blended learning is the catalyst and mover towards the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the university. Thus, this initiative intends to draw excellent lecturers that for sure will provide a better learning method and environment to s tudents, besides to see the university as having a competitive edge. The Garden, The Apple and The Fall- The Retelling of The Fall of Man from Paradise in Western Literature Western literature, particularly that of a religious nature, is replete with references to paradise, a transcendental reality in which man exists in his ideal state. In the western canon, the Garden of Eden is ubiquitous with this paradise or heaven. What is the Garden of Eden? In what ways has man’s fall from paradise influenced the mindset and psyche of modern man? Like many tales in the Bible, the story of man’s life in paradise and his subsequent expulsion, is one that has been retold and modernized by a multitude of writers and philosophers. Over the course of my independent reading this semester, I hope to find answers to these questions, as well as gain a deeper understanding of paradise and redemption within the context of Western literature. For this reason, I will look at many different perspectives on the fall of man, sin and paradise by a diverse array of writers. As with any quest, the honest traveller must begin at the beginning of the trail, so I will begin by reading John Milton’s Paradise Lost as well Dante’s Divine Comedy. Members of the team generally have a broader range and depth of skills and experiences. With encouragement and support from the leader and other team members, individual members can enhance their technical, functional, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal and teamwork skills by taking some risks and facing some new challenges. Everyone is capable of making decisions that affect them, provided they are given the appropriate information and training. People do not resist changes they have been involved in making for the benefit of the entire team and the effectively managing the entire conflict which will be turned in to an advantage in solving the problem. Gaining true employee involvement is an ongoing process, not a one-time effort it always develop each personal and team effectiveness, If a change is affecting the team, the leader must be a role model of the â€Å"new† way. The leader must be able to â€Å"let go† in order to empower people. The leader must train and coach people first so they will be ready and able to succeed. The leader realizes mistakes are unavoidable, and helps people learn from them. A key factor which differentiates teams from work groups involves the interdependence of people.
